Interested in becoming a Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Aquatic Volunteer Instructor? LDWF is hosting Aquatic Volunteer Instructor Program (Aquatic VIP) workshops across the state. Workshops will be tailored to either formal/informal educators or the general public.

LDWF Warns Public of Potential Fish Kills Statewide

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) reminds the public that high summer temperatures, extended cloudy weather, and storms may lead to inland (freshwater) and nearshore marine fish kills in waterways across the state.  Fish kills should be reported to the Department.

Agents Cite Houma Woman for Oyster Harvesting Violations

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a Houma woman for alleged oyster harvesting violations on May 24 in Terrebonne Parish. Agents cited Santa Carbajal, 55, for violating oyster logbook and refrigeration sanitation requirements.
