Man arrested for armed robbery at downtown bar after threatening bartender, HPD reports

On 6-24-25 at approximately 1230 hours, Officers were dispatched to a Downtown Bar in reference to an Armed Robbery that had just occurred.

Upon arrival the victim/ bartender reported a subject, who was later identified as Curtis Tucker b/m 37 years old, entered the business and quickly walked out of the business. Shortly afterwards, Curtis Tucker returns to the business, covering his face with his shirts, and confronts the bartender who is counting the till behind the bar.

Curtis Tucker demands her to give him the money, or he will kill her. The bartender didn’t see a gun, but advised he was acting like he had gun. The bartender refused to give him the money, and he then grabbed the bartender’s purse and ran out the business.

Responding officers were able to quickly locate Curtis Tucker and take him into custody. The bartender positively identified him as the person who robbed her. While looking at the surveillance footage from inside the business, Curtis Tucker was observed taking the bartender’s makeup bag out of her purse when he went into the business the first time. The bartender’s property was located on the side of a nearby business.

Curtis Tucker was arrested and transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he was booked with 1st Degree Robbery.
