Registration for arts and crafts booths at the award-winning Rougarou Festival is now open!

Cooper Duplantis of Terrebonne High School and Angela Solis of South Terrebonne High School were recognized for their exceptional work, and represented Terrebonne Parish in the State Finals last week. 

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office has announced official crime statistics from the 2025 Mardi Gras season, totaling over 70 arrests and significant drug seizures.

“Count me in the number that believe Louisiana students spend too much time testing,” said Louisiana State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley.

The Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter has recently received a $25,000 grant to help adoptable pets find people to love. 

At this week's monthly meeting, the Lafourche Parish School Board recognized almost 50 students for their outstanding academic, athletic, artistic and extracurricular achievements. Congratulations to all of these exceptional students!

Per the Louisiana DOTD, the Lockport Lift Bridge over Company Canal on LA 1 in Lockport will be closed for repairs for 10 days beginning on Monday, March 17, 2025. 

“This is the first time the Ross’s goose has been the focus of Louisiana’s duck stamp art competition, now in its 38th year," said LDWF Waterfowl Program Manager Jason Olszack.

The Thibodaux City Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. Scholarship Program awards scholarships to provide assistance to worthy students living in the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area in furthering their education at Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College.

"You all are the future, and you make us proud to be up here doing what we do," said TPSD Superintendent Bubba Orgeron. "And I hope that we make you proud, too."
