10th Annual Pack the School Bus Supply Drive Kicks Off

Synergy Bank, United Way of South Louisiana, and H.O.P.E. Ministry of Pointe Coupee have kicked off the 10th annual school supply drive, Pack the Bus, to benefit local students.

The supply drive has provided tens of thousands of school supplies since 2014. While all items are appreciated, there are items most needed. Please note all items should be new except for gently used school uniforms and belts:

Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes

• Single-subject spiral notebooks (college & wide rule)
• 24 pack crayons
• Packs of pencils (with no logos)
• Packs of blue or black ink pens
• Glue sticks (schools prefer the sticks not bottles)
• Pink pearl erasers
• 3 prong pocket folders
• Pencil colors
• Kleenex
• Paper towels
• Baby wipes
• Expo markers
• Filler paper/loose leaf paper (wide & college rule)
• 3×5 index cards
• 1-inch binders
• Tab/index dividers
• Backpacks
• Washable markers
• Packs of white socks
• Gently used or new belts (all sizes)
• Gently used or new school uniforms (all sizes)

Pointe Coupee Parish

• Composition notebooks
• 3-prong plastic folders
• Facial tissue
• Paper towels
• Baby wipes
• Pencil zipper bags (w/ holes)
• 2-inch binders
• Scissors
• Clear backpacks
• Washable markers
• Rest mats (red and blue)
• Packs of pencils

Donations can be dropped off at various locations across Terrebonne, Lafourche, and Pointe Coupee Parishes from July 1 through Friday, July 26 where United Way and Synergy Bank representatives will stop by partnered locations in a school bus to pick up donations and “pack the bus” for the 2024-2025 school year.
