November 9, 2024The 2024 Bayou Arts Fest recently received the Bayou Country Festival of the Year Award, presented by Explore Houma.
Explore Houma’s Louisiana Bayou Country Tourism Awards Luncheon took place earlier this week, with numerous awards presented recognizing the hard work dedicated community members put into promoting Louisiana as a top travel destination.
One of the top honors went to the 2024 Bayou Arts Fest, which took place this past October in Downtown Houma. The Bayou Arts Fest is known for promoting local artists while simultaneously embracing our area’s unique artistic diversity and culture. The festival attracted over 15,000 people, with attendees hailing from Washington, Maine, Texas, Colorado, Belgium, Algeria, and of course, Louisiana.
“We are truly honored to receive Festival of the Year from the Bayou Country Tourism Awards. It was amazing to see all the patrons from different parts of our state, country, and around the world come together,” said Genie Ardoin with the Bayou Regional Arts Council. “To have this kind of response was truly remarkable and we are so happy to be able to show others what we have to offer in Louisiana.”
The Bayou Regional Arts Council wishes to thank Explore Houma for the honor, and is excited to continue to promote Houma’s art and culture.
“We are honored to be recognized for the efforts we put into the festival, the support from our sponsors, and the work done by the board and volunteers,” said Ardoin.
