The Robinson Canal Bridge on LA 56 crossing Robinson Canal in Chauvin/Cocodrie will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 a.m. on November 27, 2023 until 4:00p.m. on October 1, 2024. This closure is required to allow the Department’s contractor to remove and replace the existing bridge with a new structure.
Detour routes:
Southbound: LA 56 North to LA 24; LA 24 West to LA 661; LA 661 South to LA 57; LA 57 South (Bayou Sale Road) to LA 56.
Northbound: LA 56 South to LA 57; LA 57 North to LA 661; LA 661 North to LA 24; LA 24 East to LA 56.
