Charles Packnett, 65, a native of Centerville, Ms., and a resident of Raceland, La., died Monday, July 14.
He is survived by his daughter, Latoya Holmes of Raceland; one son Terrence Holmes of Raceland; two brothers David Packnett and John Packnett both of Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters, Sallie Jackson and Eula Anderson of Liberty, Ms., and Delores Dillon of Baton Rouge, La.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gip and Martha Allen Packnett; two sisters, Ceola Packnett and Mae Ola Anderson; four brothers, James Packnett Johnny Packnett, Louis Packnett and Samuel Packnett.
He was Baptist. His hobbies included gardening.
A grave side service was held Tuesday, July 15, at Young Ladies Benevolent Cemetery in Raceland.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland was in charge of the arrangements.
