March 19, 2014Clara “La La, Toulee” Marie Orgeron Matherne, 92, a native of Valentine, La., and resident of Larose, La., died Friday, March 14, 2014.
Mrs. Matherne joined the Holy Rosary Ladies Altar Society in 1945 and was a devout Catholic who walked to mass regularly. She loved red fishing and crabbing and attending Mardi Gras parades. She never quit dancing and was a regular volunteer at the Larose Civic Center and French Food Fest.
She is survived by her sons, Myron and Roy Matherne; daughter, Myra Ann Matherne; sisters, Mable Richoux and Dora Mae Ledet; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eroy Matherne; parents, Leon and Emma Orgeron; son, Bobby Matherne; brothers, Clarence, Forest, Dudley and Eldon Orgeron; and sisters, Norma Gaspard, Lorina Leblanc and Laura Orgeron.
Burial is at Our Lady of the Rosary Church Cemetery in Larose. (Samart-Mothe)
