Josephine Oubre Jones, 84, a native of Vacherie, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, August 26.
She is survived by her sons, Jerome Michael Jones and Danny C. Sims; daughter, Teresa Jones Bergeron and husband Leonard; brothers, Hurby Oubre, Wellman Oubre, Paul Frank Oubre, John Oubre, Sr., Huey Oubre, Patrick Oubre and Richard Oubre; sisters, Priscilla Oubre Bruke, Regina Oubre Octave and husband Wilis, Ruby Oubre and Vergie Woods; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florian Oubre and Therese Phillips Oubre; sons, Dennis and Donald Jones; brothers, Percy, Joseph and Leroy Oubre; sister, Olga Oubre Moore; and grandparents, Adelen and Thomas Phillips.
She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and the Knights of Peter Claver Court # 338 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a retired self-employed caterer.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Lucy Catholic Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, August 30, at St. Lucy Catholic Church in Houma with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. She will be buried at St. Francis Cemetery # 2.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
