Lenten Gumbo served for 20 years, still going strong
March 19, 2010Mary Aline Barker, 63, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, after a lengthy illness.
Ms. Barker was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She retired after 25 years from the Lafourche Parish School Board.
She is survived by her brothers, Stephen and Peter Barker; sister, Mary Elizabeth Bourgeois; uncle, Brother Lee Barker; nieces and nephews, Amanda Marie McCorkel, Melanie Anne Weaver, Emily Susan Adams, Christopher George Bourg, Jacob Allen Eboch, Stephen Seth Barker and Milton Joseph Bourgeois; five great-nieces and great-nephews, Allie Jade Bourg, Ariana Alise Weaver, Christian Wade McCorkel, Zachary Thomas Boudwin and Ty Austin Bourg; and longtime friends, Sammy, Sue, and Jamie Hebert and Lacey Biondo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Barker Jr.; brothers, Charles III and Michael Barker; and sister, Alice Ann Bourg.
She is buried at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Cemetery in Thibodaux.
