Renol “Pop” Joseph Clement, 90, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 21.


He is survived by his wife Helen Scott Clement of Houma; two sons, Rene’ J. Clement and wife Cathy, and John E. “Jackie” Clement and wife Pat of Houma; one sister, Marie Clement Cenac of Houma; five grandchildren, Lauren Clement Fondren and husband Fred, Lisa Clement Vicknair and husband Myles, Lindsay Clement, Matt Clement and Mark Clement; six great-grandchildren, Courtney Claire Fondren, Julia Catherine Fondren, Grace Allen Fordren, Eleanor Jane Fondren, Molly Kate Vicknair and Alexis Caroline Vicknair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rene’ Joseph Clement and Mabel Malbrough Clement; daughter, Sandra M. Clement; brother, Warren J. Clement; and three sisters, Dorothy Clement, Marion Clement Witt and Claudia Clement Bauland.

He was a retired Purchasing Agent of 43 years with Texaco, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6170, American Legion Post #31, Texaco Retirees Club of Houma and a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: St. Louis Infant Center or St. Francis School.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, October 23, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with mass to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
