Theodore A. “Winkey” Williams Sr., 56, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Tuesday, February 6, 2007.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Brooklyn Cemetery.


He is survived by his companion, Ella Sylvester of Raceland; one son, Theodore Williams Jr. of Thibodaux, La.; one stepson, Garland Sylvester of Raceland; two daughters, Danita Williams and Karen Ross of Thibodaux; three stepdaughters, Natasha, Shandel and Stacey Sylvester, all of Raceland; two brothers, Ernest Williams Jr. and wife, Vera, of Raceland and twin brother, Leo Williams and wife, Patricia, of Oakland, Calif.; five sisters, Ernestine Lewis and husband, Leroy, of Bakersville, Calif., Audrey Ray and husband, Sylvester, of Bayou Blue, Elnora “Goo Goo” Joseph and husband, Warren, Patricia Joseph and husband, Darryl, and Rosemary Thomas, all of Raceland; one stepsister, Leotha Johnson of Thibodaux; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Earline Shelby Williams; and one brother, Larry Williams.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and was Baptist.
