Berwick student represents area in Student of the Year race

March 1, 2011Theresa “Nana” “Mama T” Carter Adams, 93, a native and former resident of Ewellville, La., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011.
Mrs. Adams was a former cook for the Assumption Parish School System and a homemaker. She was a member of the Virginia Baptist Church, The Eastern Stars Donaldsonville Chapter and many other religious and benevolent societies.
She is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann Talton; sons, Manuel Jr. (Vickie), Sidney (Linda), Louis, and the Rev. James Russell (Virgie) Adams; sisters, Lillian Cola and Florence Carter; sister-in-law, Julia Carter Rodney; 24 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Adams Sr.; parents, Charlie and Mariah McBride Carter; one daughter, Louise Adams; one sister, Rosanna Carter; and three brothers, Alton, Lawrence Sr. and Welton Carter.
She is buried at Virginia Baptist Church Cemetery. (Williams and Southall)
