Bella Marie Foret Sevin, 85, a native and resident of Chauvin, passed away on October 23, 2024.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 9am to 11am, with the funeral service to begin at 11am, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin.

She is survived by her son, Joey Sevin (Sandra); daughter, Monica Pierron (Al); grandchildren, Jonas Sevin (Sarah), Brennan Sevin, Jeremiah Pierron (Carla), and Jake Pierron (Rachel); great grandchildren, Landon Sevin, Amelia Sevin, Anna Rose Pierron, Adeline Pierron, and Jacques Pierron; and sister, Velma Dehart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junius “Token” Sevin; parents, Toussant and Winona Authement Foret; brothers, Percy Foret, Brownell Foret, Eldon Foret, Aaron Foret, Russell Foret, Melvin Foret, and Lovey Foret; and sister, Bertha Pellegrin.

Bella was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived her life for Jesus, and she spread His love to her family.

Bella and her beloved husband, Token, lived their lives together as trawlers, alligator hunters, trappers, and camp managers. They grew beautiful gardens, both at home and at the camp. They worked hard to provide for their family, and didn’t take for granted the bounty given to them by God; thus, their trawl boat was appropriately named, The Provider.  Bella was also an excellent homemaker, keeping her house and yard immaculate. Bella and Token were both outstanding cooks, and after his passing, she continued the tradition of cooking on Sundays and holidays until she became too ill to do so. She adored her grandsons, and they have learned to cook from watching her stir in the pot. She delighted in her great grandchildren, and they, in turn, adored her. Our love for her ran deep, and we will miss her dearly.  We find comfort in knowing that she has gone to her Heavenly home.

We’d like to thank Hope Hospice, Council on Aging, and Sister Dale Lirette for their loving assistance in taking care of our dear Bella.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue is in charge of arrangements.
