Man arrested for armed robbery at downtown bar after threatening bartender, HPD reports
June 25, 2025Ronnie Joseph Toups, a native and resident of Donner, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the age of 78.
Ronnie enjoyed the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and frogging with his family and friends. He was an avid gardener who worked tirelessly to grow delicious vegetables for his family. When not in his garden, he was most certainly in his shed tinkering with his latest project. Ronnie was skilled in woodworking, having built many cabinets and swings for his loved ones over the years, and he was always willing to lend a hand with any home improvement project thrown his way. He loved spending time with his family, especially his “favorite” who he insisted was always who was standing closest to him at the time. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Susanne Albarado Toups; children, Lisa Aizen, and husband, Freddie; Chad Toups and companion, Michelle Gautreaux; Jennifer Turner and husband, Joshua; and Brandy Toups, and companion, Korey LeBlanc; granddaughters, Kristen Arabie and companion, Thomas Stutts; Kaitlyn Boudreaux and companion, Travis Bergeron; Breanna Hebert and husband, Steven; and Mckenzie Bourgeois and fiancé, Tyler Prados; great-grandchildren, Skylynn Blanchard, Sawyer Boudreaux, Ellie Rae Hendon, Maverick Stutts, Steven “S.J.” Hebert Jr., and Stella Sue Hebert, due to arrive in November. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Shavor and husband, Michael, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Toups and Rita LeBlanc Toups; brothers, Donnie Jean Toups and Darrel John Toups Sr.; father-in-law, Gilbert Besson; mother-in-law, Genieve Albarado Besson; son-in-law, Todd Bourgeois; brother-in-law Ricky Besson; niece, Christina Shavor; and nephews, Daniel Shavor, Jeremy Besson, and Todd Toups.
