Congratulations to the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports Team, who earned the 2024 National Champion title for the 4th time in the last 5 years.

 

These young athletes competed in Air Pistol, Air Rifle, Archery Recurve, Archery Compound, Hunting, Muzzle Loading, Smallbore Rife, Smallbore Pistol, and Shotgun categories.

 

Representing Lafourche Parish 4-H was Hunter Poche, who placed 2nd Overall with the Hunting Team. Poche also placed 2nd in Individual Management/Archery, 2nd in Individual Skills/Map/Shotgun, 1st in Team Skills/Map/Shotgun, 3rd in Team Decision Making/Compass/Rifle, and 7th Individual Overall.

 

“These great results are a first for Louisiana and we have seen some really good years. These kids keep setting the bar high for future teams,” said David Boldt, 4-H Youth & Family Development Department. “I want to thank the kids, parents, chaperones and coaches for their great representation of our Louisiana Shooting Sports Program. Great group to be around!”
