Local lawmakers’ pre-filings a mixed bag
March 25, 2010Gertie LeBlanc Roussel, 97, a native of St. Martinville, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010.
She is survived by her son, C.A. (Janet) Roussel Jr.; five grandchildren, Brian (Cindy), Brett (Louise), Jan (Malik) Hossel, Christine (David) Zeringue and Melissa Roussel; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Hossel, Allen Roussel, Brittani Hossel, Megan and Matthew Zeringue and Taylor Roussel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.A. Roussel Sr.; parents, Elisa Prados and Octave LeBlanc; half- brothers, Calvin and Johnny LeBlanc; and sister, Gertrude Wiltz.
The family extends its thanks to Journey Hospice of Houma: Felicia, Grace and Antoinette; as well as Candy and Thelma.
She is buried at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
