Herbert John Galliano, 70, a native of Mathews, La., and a resident of Lockport, La., died Thursday, April 16, at 8:30 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Iris Dufrene Galliano; sons, Russell John Galliano and wife Christina, and Jody Paul Galliano; daughter, Denise “Neasy” Matherne and husband Roland Jr.; brothers, Roy Galliano, James “Jimmy” Galliano and Ralph Galliano; sister, Linda G. Baudoin; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Bertha Viola St. Pierre Galliano; infant daughter, Gail Marie Galliano; and brothers, Morgan Galliano, Robert “Bobbie” Galliano and Daniel “Dan” Galliano.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired oil field inspector. He enjoyed fishing, trawling and boat riding. He was Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Holy Savior Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
