In Terrebonne Parish, voters elected Herbert Fitch over incumbent Orville Callahan by 80 votes. Fitch took 51% of the vote (3,650 votes) to Callahan’s 49% (3,570). The unofficial turnout was 10.8%.
In Lafourche Parish, Calvin Cooks defeated Foye “Put” Lirette. Cooks received 59% of the vote (2,273 votes) over Lirette’s 41% (1,555 votes). The unofficial turnout was 32.7%.
