Curtis Joseph Leblanc Sr.
June 13, 2011George Joseph Chiasson Sr., 78, a native of Lockport, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, June 8, 2011.
Mr. Chiasson was retired from Valley Supply Company of Houma. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church and served as a long time usher. He was a Korean War veteran and a current member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his spouse, Joan Chiasson; son, George (Kim) Chiasson Jr.; daughters, Roslyn Dempster and Mary Beth (Willard Jr.) Chauvin; brother, Eddie (Lois) Chiasson; sisters, Mary Ann Chiasson and Martha (E.J.) Plaisance; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney and Enith Chiasson; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Rose Boquet Sr.; brother, Roy Chiasson; and sisters, Agnes and Mary Chiasson.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
