July 20, 2022Extreme heat conditions are expected in our area today with heat index values of up to 110 degrees. The highest temps will be from 11 AM to 7 PM.
From the National Weather Service:
We are confident hot temperatures and high humidity will occur today and could quickly lead to heat illness if precautions aren’t taken. Confidence remains high that these conditions will continue to expand south and east to the rest of our area through the remainder of the week.
Impacts:
Heat index readings will climb up to 110 degrees for multiple hours.
With heat index values expected near or above 108 degrees, heat illness can occur quickly. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstance
