Savanne Road in Houma is now open to vehicular traffic.
The road was closed on September 18, 2023 due to the marsh fire. Officials made the decision to leave the road closed due to heavy smoke and the chance that the fire itself was approaching the road. Savanne Road cuts through the marsh, connecting Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. to LA Hwy. 311.
