Carole Anne Gilfour, 64, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Fort Worth, Texas, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Mrs. Gilfour poured her love, attention and guidance into her daughter, Rachel and son, Doug. With her ever-present smile and cheerfulness, Carole made friends easily, often and anywhere. A quick conversationalist, she was genuinely interested in the lives of others and remembered their stories and loved ones. Her warmness, generosity and thoughtfulness made people feel instantly welcome. She had a vibrant personality and a hearty, contagious laugh. Above all, Carole will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother by marriage, grandmother, and loyal friend. She adored her three grandchildren who loved their “Nana” and the endlessly fun ways that she spoiled them. Her commitment and loyalty to her family was beyond compare. The energy and love she dedicated to her family is the precious heirloom that will surpass her time on this earth. She will be sorely missed, remembered often and never forgotten.

She is survived by her husband, Roy; daughter, Rachel (Chad) Harthcock; son, Doug (Christy) Gilfour; three grandchildren, Tori Harthcock, and Zander and Christian Gilfour; sister, Madeline McGuffin; brothers, Lloyd, Michael and Oscar Legendre; and numerous relatives, friends and neighbors.

She is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Thibodaux)
