November 6, 2009Mr. Ferguson Woods, 74, a native of Lafourche Parish, La., and a resident of Gibson, La., died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Woods; daughters, Mary Phillips and Khadijha Woods; sister, Agnes Woods Marts; brother, Harrison Woods Jr.; six step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison Sr. and Lillian Woods; brothers, Edward and Alma Woods; and sister, Ida Mae Lawson.
He was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Marine and U.S. Navy veteran. He loved watching his favorite football teams, the New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Larose, La., with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
