James Cecil Smith, 77, a native of Anadarko, Okla., and resident of Houma, La., died at 8 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2011.
Mr. Smith was a retired oilfield superintendent. He worked for Chevron Oil Company as well as Livingston and Pool and later owned Dove Consulting Company. He enjoyed watching sports and western movies on TV. He loved his family and his Lord foremost.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sheila Smith; daughters, Gwen (Gerald) Apanowicz, Amilie (LeRoy Jr.) Belanger and Mary (Larry) Naquin; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Edna Smith; brother, Kenneth Smith; and sister, Katherine Williams.
His caregiver to the end was his granddaughter, Michelle Ann Ledet, whom he loved dearly.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
