Alma “Mattie” Allen

Alma “Mattie” Allen, 84, a native of Utica, Miss., and resident of Morgan City, La., died at her home Nov. 22, 2009.

She is survived by her children, Bobbie Dupre, Gloria Allen, Jimmie (Debbie) Allen, Emergy Allen, Leah (Billy) Anslum, Rusty (Sherry) and Cecil (Christina) Allen; daughter-in-law, Becky Allen; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Allen Sr.; daughters, Linda Allen and Darlene Durr; parents, Frank and Rebecca Marsh; three brothers; two sisters; and son-in-law, Evans J. Dupre Sr.

Mrs. Allen loved reading her newspaper.

Visitation is set for Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Twin City Funeral Home, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m.

She will be buried at Morgan City Cemetery.
