Joe Dykes, 79, a native of Richton, Ms., and a resident of Luling, La., died at 11:30 p.m.

Friday, September 12.

He is survived by his former wife, Lucille Dykes; one son, Donald Dykes; one daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Dykes Badeaux and husband Chris; one brother, Wayne Dykes; four sisters, Myrtle Cooley, Avis Shaw, Mary Lou Creel and Ann Gilmore; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vardie and Victoria Ivey Dykes; one brother, James Arthur Dykes; and one sister, Bonnie Lee Dykes.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, at West St. Charles Baptist Church in Boutte, La. with the funeral service to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
