Peggy Ann Swan

Peggy Ann Trahan Swan, 61, a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015.

Mrs. Swan was a Christian, an organ donor and a longtime carrier for the Houma Courier.

She is survived by her daughters, Danielle and Danise Swan; three grandchildren; sisters, Linda Trahan and Mona (Easton) LaCompte; brothers, Allen (Sandra) and Gary (Darlene) Trahan; and mother-in-law, Peggy Naquin Swan. (Chauvin Funeral Home)

Allen Danos Jr.

Allen Joseph Danos, Jr., 68, a native of Larose, Louisiana, and resident of Cut Off, Louisiana, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015.

Mr. Danos was an Eagle Scout, graduate of Holy Cross High School and LSU, PKT Fraternity, U.S. Army reservist, retired owner of Danos and Curole and active in the community He served many originations in his lifetime, Chamber of Commerce, OMSA, Lafourche Parish Port Commission, Nicholls State University, Holy Rosary Catholic School, Friends of the Rosary, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Social Services of Houma Thibodaux Diocese, Bayou Community Foundation and many more.

He loved family, horses, hunting, fishing and traveling to France, speaking French to anyone who would listen.

Mr. Danos is survived by his children, Marcel (Andreia), Rene’ (Travis) David, Alyce and Andre (Julie) Danos; his fiancee, Judith Kountoupis of Austin, Texas; brother, Hank Danos; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Nettie May Boudreaux

Nettie May Mazeres Boudreaux, 83, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and resident of Schriever, Louisiana, died Jan. 23, 2015.

Mr. Boudreaux enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needle-pointing.

Mrs. Boudreaux is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carol Ray Boudreaux; children, Shirleen (Lyle) Trabeaux, Allen (Sue) Boudreaux, Gwen Owens, David (Luci), Danielle and Ronald (Janet) Boudreaux; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leverta Hines and Wanda Ketner; and brother, Reggie Mazeres.

Elizabeth Ann Blanchard, 45, a native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015.

Ms. Blanchard is survived by her mother and stepfather, Janice and Mark Smith; siblings, Donald Jr. (Yoany), Aspaze “Toni”Henry, Francis, Jennifer (John) Chauvin, Donald III, Cinda and Joseph Blanchard; grandmother, Irene Foret; five godchildren; and numerous other relatives.

Mary Jo Graham, 90, a native of Oktaha, Oklahoma, and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015.

Mrs. Graham is survived by her husband, Ranald Graham; son, Michael Graham; daughter, Linda McDermott; and sister, Billye June Seigal Wood.

Roger Joseph Naquin

Roger Joseph Naquin, 83, a native of Montegut, Louisiana, and resident of Pointe-AuxChenes, Louisiana, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015.

Mr. Naquin worked 29 years for Texaco. He enjoyed making others’ laugh, computers and time spent with family

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Emelda Thibodaux Naquin; son, Kerry Paul Naquin; daughters, Jeanetta (Randy) Blanchard, Lavon (Darrell) Champagne; sister, Helen (Junius) Plaisance; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grand-children.

Burial is at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery in Pointe-Aux-Chenes.

George Morris Herpin

George Morris Herpin, 76, a native of Crowley, Louisiana, and longtime resident of Houma, Louisiana, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015.

Mr. Herpin retired from Dolphin Service after 20 years. He an avid LSU football fan and, for 25 years, enjoyed volunteering as a coach and driver for Terrebonne Parish Special Olympics. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Herpin.

Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Lawrence Anthony Morvant

Lawrence Anthony Morvant, 65, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015.

Mr. Morvant was member of Lions Club for more than 20 years. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family

He is survived by his daughters, Charolynn Sterkins, Gwendolynn (Burt) Theriot and Nora Isabel Morvant; son-in-law, Rodney Sterkins; eight grandchildren; two step-grand-children; and three great-grandchildren.

Adeline Legendre Bernard, 49, a native and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015.

Mrs. Bernard is survived by her husband of 30 years, Michael Bernard; mother, Byrne Ellender Legendre; daughters, Julie and Alyce Bernard; brothers, Irving III and Willard Legendre; and sisters, Mary Byrne Borderlon and Katherine Hebert.

Florence Naquin Moore, 84, a native of Raceland, Louisiana, and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Teresa), Charles (Cheryl) and Lee Paul Moore; daughters, Judith (Raymond) Pledger, Patricia Scott, Phyllis Rhodes and Anna (Mackie) Duplechain; brother-in-law, Gary (Glenda) Moore; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grand-children.

Yvonne Josephine DeHart

Yvonne Josephine DeHart, 57, a native of Brownsville, Texas, and resident of Theriot, Louisiana, died at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.

Mrs. DeHart was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church. She loved the outdoors and time spent with family

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Eura DeHart Sr.; sons, Eura Jr., Lance (Careese) and Clevis DeHart; daughter, Iva (Avery Jr.) Lirette; brothers, John Jr. (Lori) and Johnny (Lucy Sisco) Elderton; sister, Lavonne (Sterling Jr.) Liner; and four grandchildren.

Rita Amanda Catanese

Rita Amanda Catanese, 93, a native of Napoleonville, Louisiana, and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2015.

Mrs. Catanese was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. She enjoyed tending to her roses, and frequenting bingo halls and horse races with friends.

She is survived by her sisters, Doris Leidenheimer and Maude Bilello.

Burial is at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Bernice Mae Brieden

Bernice Mae Brieden, 98, a native of Hondo, Texas, and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died at 10:35 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015.

A member of First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Brieden was an independent, caring lady with a pioneer spirit. One of nine children, she grew up in San Antonio. “Mrs. B” was a homemaker for 33 years until her husband’s death in 1965.

Trade school prepared her for work, which she did with the City of Houma through 1981. Afterward, she volunteered at Terrebonne General Medical Center and worked part-time at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, retiring on her 95th birthday.

She loved to cook, do crossword puzzles, sew and crochet, and was known for crocheting lap robes for senior citizens.

Mrs. Brieden is survived by her sons, Philip (Jane) and Michael (Sarah) Brieden Sr.; daughter, Phylles (James) Lagarde; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Donald (Waynette) Sorrells; and sister, Louise Evans.

Burial is at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Gerard John Rodrigue

Gerard John Rodrigue, 83, a native of Chackbay, Louisiana, and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015.

Mr. Rodrigue was a devout Catholic and a founding parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He was a long-time Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1114. He is a retired educator of Lafourche Parish School Board, serving as principal of Chackbay Elementary School for 22 years, of W.S. Lafargue for six years, and as supervisor of child welfare and attendance for seven years.

Mr. Rodrigue was a lifetime member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association and an active member of the Lafourche Parish Retired Teachers Association. He enjoyed socializing, traveling, photography, dancing and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Anna Louise Battaglia Rodrigue; sons, Gerard Jr. (Madelyn), Christopher (Barbara), Gregory and Justin (Melisa) Rodrigue; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Rodrigue; and half-brother, Edward Legendre.

Interment is at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Van Alsbrook Jr.

Van Alsbrook Jr., 87, a native of Homer, Louisiana, and resident of Houma, Louisiana, died Saturday, January 17, 2015.

Mr. Alsbrook enjoyed his 20-plus years of retirement living and fishing at Toledo Bend with his loving wife of 56 years. He loved attending Noble Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Alsbrook; sons, Lt. Col. Michael (Lindy) and Van (Sandy) Alsbrook; daughters, Vanessa Valure; Laura (Kurt) Landry and Ruth Ann Anderson; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Louise (Mason) Sweeney.

Dudley G. Adams

Dudley G. Adams, 79, a native and resident of Cut Off, Louisiana, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2015.

Mr. Adams was an Army veteran, and a deacon at South Lafourche Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, especially for deer, ad fish.

He was the captain and owner of the Todd Ann.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose D. Adams; daughter, Ann (Archie) Trosclair; son, Todd (K. Jordan) Adams; two grandchildren; brothers, Cleo and Duffy Adams; and sister, Mildred Adams Duet.

Burial is at Cheramie Cemetry.

Dennis Ray “Menue” Matherne, 57, a native of Raceland, Louisiana, and resident of Lock-port, Louisiana, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2015.
