
Lafourche Parish shows signs of slow return to normalcy

Doris Boudreaux Chauvin, 87, a native of Houma, La., and a resident of Broussard, La., went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 10.
She is survived by one daughter, Merrill Chauvin Yerby and husband Bill Yerby of Broussard; two grandchildren, Kelly Yerby Hempen and husband Mike Hempen, and Scott Yerby and wife Kristy Yerby, both of Lafayette, La.; and two great-grandchildren, Luke Peter Hempen and Miller Matthew Yerby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton “Pete” Joseph Chauvin; her parents, Emile and Angelle Boudreaux; and her siblings, Elam Boudreaux, Annie Rhodes, Eclam Boudreaux, Fannie Authement, Abbie Boudreaux, Maggie Melancon and Lyman Boudreaux.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and very devoted to her family.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
