
Former TARC outreach director prepares to ‘kick it up a notch’ at helm

Effie Guidry Fields, 82, a native and resident of Houma, died. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 8:17 a.m.
She is survived by her husband, Alton P. Fields; two sons, Larry Fields and Lynn Fields; three sisters, Gladys Dover, Edna Duplantis and Ruby Hotard; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Armand J. Guidry and Nettie Bourgeois Guidry; two brothers, James Guidry and Calvin Guidry; four sisters, Edith Naquin, Pearl Benoit, Verna Legendre and Nettie Guidry.
Effie was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She was a homemaker.
She is buried at St. Bridget Cemetery in Schriever, La.
Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma is in Charge of the arrangements.
