December 16, 2014William A. McBroom Jr., 84, a native of Urania, Louisiana, and resident of Raceland, Louisiana, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014.
Mr. McBroom was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a retired state trooper. He was an Air Force veteran who served as a bodyguard for four-star Gen. Norris Lorstead. An avid carpenter known for his skills, Mr. McBroom’s CB handle was “Toymaker.”
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faye E. McBroom; sons, Todd and Jason (Heather) McBroom; daughters, Donna (Jeffery) Theriot, Rhonda Lombas, Christine (Randy) Carrier and Ann (Jack) Ledet; brothers, McDuffy and Ford McBroom; sister, Sarah Foxworth; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Burial is at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
