Grand Caillou native takes fisheries post

Helen Plaisance Sandras, 84, a native and resident of Galliano, La., died on Sunday, June 5, 2016.
Mrs. Sandras was a “queen of all trades.” She worked in the seafood industry, cooked offshore, was a TG&Y clerk and a live-in caretaker. She enjoyed bingo and visiting the casino.
She is survived by her sons, Terry (Kathy), Sidney Jr. (Kathy) and Roddy (Bekki) Sandras; daughter, Marlene (Lee) O’Connor; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Interment will be held at a later date. (Falgout)
