Recovery’s been tough, but hospital emerges healthier

Marie Ophelia Templet Martin, 94, a native of Raceland, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, Sept. 7, at 1:55 a.m.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph Martin Sr. and wife Norma Molaison Martin of Raceland, and Edward Martin and wife Rita Adams Martin of Thibodaux; one daughter, Emma Martin Boudreaux and husband Billy Boudreaux of Loranger, La., one sister, Beatrice Templet Cortez; two half-sisters, Doris Cortez Loupe and Mercy Cortez Kreamer; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Yves Martin; parents, Beatrice Hebert Templet Cortez and Robert Templet; step-father, Joseph Rosmond Cortez; one brother, Freddy Templet; one half-brother, Lester Cortez; one sister, Lucille Kreamer; one half-sister, Velma Cortez; four step-brothers, Alidore, Gilbert, Ursin and Addis Cortez; two step-sisters, Agnes Jennings and Althea Hanna; and one grandson, Keith Martin.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland. She was a retired employee of Raceland Elementary and Junior High School cafeterias.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
