ABOUT OREION’S GAME:

Oreion is one of the best players in Louisiana – in part because she’s so hard to defend. She possesses the ball skills to take bigger, less athletic players off the dribble. When opponents defend her with guards, Oreion goes into the post and is capable of scoring down low, while also owning the paint and offensive glass.

GOALS:

“We won the State Championship, which was an amazing feeling. Now, we want to focus and try and do it again.”

WORKING ON:

Becoming a better all-around player.

STRENGTHS:

Versatility, rebounding ability, aggressiveness.

CREDENTIALS:

Ellender standout junior Oreion James is a handful on the basketball court. Standing 5-feet, 9-inches and having the ability to play multiple positions, Oreion is not an easy player to prepare for. In the Class 4A State Playoffs, Oreion helped lead the Lady Patriots to the State Championship, earning Most Outstanding Player honors along the way. She said her goal is to repeat that feat next season for the Lady Patriots.
