Nicholls archivist was key to solving slavery-era mystery

Jeffery Lee Bergeron, 59, a native and resident of Gibson, La., died on Monday, March 20, 2017.
Mr. Bergeron worked as a roustabout for Anthill Pipeline for over 30 years and was a porter at Trapp Chevrolet for the last seven years.
He is survived by his companion, Cindy LeBlanc; mother, Peggy Cummings; brother, Kevin (Gertie) Bergeron; step-brothers, Howard and Gary (Sue) Cummings; step-sister, Cathy (Gene) Cummings; and nieces a nephew and other relatives.
Interment is at Gibson Baptist Church Cemetery in Gibson.
