Henry Hendon Sr., 69, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, November 11.
He is survived by his wife, June Belanger Hendon; five sons, Henry Hendon Jr. and wife Sheryl, Michael Hendon, Ezra Hendon and wife Melissa, Jesse Hendon and wife Mindy, and Joey Hendon and wife Miranda; three daughters, Annie Ortega and husband Jesse, Effie Umberger and husband Richard, and Tracie Benoit and husband Kenneth; five brothers, Bernard Dardar and Jerry, Ronnie, Lawrence and Curtis Hendon; five sisters, Theresa Verdin, Alice Solet, Delores Pennington, Agnes Grider and Yvonne Gray; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aglonie Dardar Hendon and Constant Hendon; one grandson, Joe Umberger; one brother, Horace Dardar; and three sisters, Bessie Parfait, Gillian Hendon and Theophilla Foret.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15, at New Beginning Community Outreach Center in Pointe-Aux-Chenes, La. with a religious service to follow. He will be buried at Rogers Cemetery.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
