Mrs. Audrey Lou Simmons Picou, 72, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 10:53 p.m.
She is survived by her husband, Isaac Picou; one daughter, Sylvia Picou Burleson and husband Michael; two sons, Isaac Antonio Picou and wife Tangela, and Malcolm Picou; five brothers, Kermit Simmons Jr. and wife Annie, William Simmons and wife Claudia, John Simmons and wife Geraldine, Alvin Simmons and wife Linda, and Charles Simmons and wife Lois; three sisters, Aldine Navy, Irma Williams and Barbara Lewis and husband Henry; and seven grandchildren, Ashley Thompson, Marhiya Bingham, Jonathan Thompson, Darin Picou, Karley Picou, Devin Picou and Briauna Spears.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Kermit Simmons Sr. and Leola Goings Simmons; and grandparents, Fields and Milie Simmons, and Horace and Minnie Goings.
She was a member of Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church. She was a retired teacher of 33 years with the Terrebonne Parish School System.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at Community Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church with burial at Crozier Cemetery.
