Nicholls archivist was key to solving slavery-era mystery

This weekend marked the official end to the 2016-17 prep basketball season. The Bayou-River All-Star game showcased all of the best talent that our region has to offer. The event featured two all-star games, a 3-point contest and a slam dunk contest. Fans packed Thibodaux High’s gym.
Thibodaux senior standout Austin Hall flies through the air, defying gravity for this two-handed reverse slam dunk during the slam dunk competition.
Destrehan’s Cara “Moon” Ursin has won every award possible during her career, but she added another on Saturday. The three-time State Player of the Year won MVP for the River Team.

Houma Christian’s Dee Thomas won MVP for the Bayou Team during the girls’ All-Star Game. She had 14 points in the game, while guarding Moon Ursin.
