SPORTS PLAYED:
Taihgan is a contributing member on the Terrebonne High School boys basketball team, which made the second round of the Class 5A State Playoffs. Taihgan’s role with the team accelerated as the year progressed.
STRENGTHS:
Taihgan is a multi-faceted player who has a lot of tools in his arsenal that can help the Tigers win games. He is good off the dribble and can beat defenders in penetration. He also has a growing outside shot. On the perimeter, Taihgan is a worthwhile on-ball defender who has lateral quickness and the ability to defend players who are bigger or smaller.
HOBBIES:
Taihgan likes to stay busy. He said that when not in season, he likes to work on his game with teammates and coaches. He also likes to stay on top of the latest in sports, following other teams around the area and also in the college and pro ranks.
WORKING ON:
Developing physical strength and getting more gym work in to become a more accomplished, polished player on both ends of the floor.
CREDENTIALS:
Terrebonne High School guard Taihgan Poindexter is blossoming into quite a player for Coach Derek Szush and the fighting Tigers. In his sophomore season, Taihgan played contributing minutes for a Tigers team that won more than 20 games and which advanced to the second round of the Class 5A State Playoffs. Taihgan hopes to improve his game over the summer and be even better in the 2017-18 campaign.
