Lafourche educator wins Principal of the Year

August 2, 2016Douglas “Chubby” Chauvin, 75, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Bourg, La., died at 7:12 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016.
Mr. Chauvin was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. He was also the constable of Ward 5 in Bourg for the past 11 years, spent 43 years with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office and was a volunteer fireman.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillie Mae Boquet Chauvin; son, Douglas (Monica) Chauvin Jr.; daughters, Lillie (Stephen) Brunet, Donna (Malcolm) Autin, Amanda (Michael) Calogero, Shannon (Michael) Naber and Crystal (Tod) Williams; brother, Daniel (Patti) Chauvin; sisters, Sylvia Sweeney, Diane (Ron) Nix and Cele (Curt) Fabre; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Burial is at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in Bourg.
