Flood protection to sediment boosts initiatives
November 21, 2011Benson M. Thibodaux Sr., 97, a native of Lafourche Parish, La., and resident of Gray, La., died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011.
Mr. Thibodaux was a retired sugarcane, crawfish and produce farmer who lived a full life and succeeded in everything he did.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Thibodaux; sons, Larry Sr. (Lana), Gary and Benson Jr. (Jeanne) Thibodaux; daughter, Margie Cox; stepson, Ricky Babin; stepdaughter, Peggy (Ron) Gann; sisters, Mona Pitre, Doris Dugas and Iris Robichaux; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alfreda Thibodaux; great-grandson, Christopher Bergeron; brothers, Alvin, Reynold and Felton Thibodaux; and sister, Lorena Breaux.
Burial was at St. Louis Cemetery. (Samart)
