May 26, 2011Ruby “Mae” King Carter, 73, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, May 18, 2011.
She was a member and usher at Residence Baptist Church. She was a retired cook for the Terrebonne Parish School Board.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Chambers; daughters, Roberta (Napoleon Sr.) White, Sandra Ronald Sr.) Robinson and Lynette (Charles Sr.) Ray; brother, Sterling (Romesie) King Jr.; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling King Sr. and Gertrude Nixon Johnson; daughter, Shelia King Smith; and her grandparents, Elizabeth and Westley Nixon.
