A.J. is a starter on the H.L. Bourgeois boys’ basketball team – one of the most gifted players in the area. A.J. was an All-District player in the 2016-17 season.

A.J. is expected to be one of the top guards in the state next season. He is being recruited by several schools and is expected to be a college-bound player in the future.
STRENGTHS:
A.J. is a prolific scorer. He has the ability to score both outside but also in the paint. When he commits himself, A.J. is also a dominant defender capable of smothering opponents throughout games.

H.L. Bourgeois senior A.J. Rainey is someone to look out for in the next basketball season. Standing 5-feet, 10-inches, A.J. is often undersized when on the floor, but that doesn’t stop him from having the impact of a giant. He can score in multiple ways throughout the game, while also owning plus-level lateral quickness and leaping skills. A.J. said away from the floor, he’s a student of the game, often watching the guys in the NBA work.
