
Public appeal issued in Terrebonne for elderly heat health

March 24, 2011Almate P. Guidry, 89, a native of Galliano, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Saturday, March 19, 2011.
Mr. Guidry loved hunting, fishing and bingo. He was a wonderful grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and great-great-great-grandfather. He was a U.S. Army veteran and fought for his country in WWII. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and attended weekly group sessions with his fellow local veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Enez “Bee” Felarise Guidry; son, Richie (Dodie) Guidry; daughter, Veronica “Nicky” Gautreaux; five grandchildren, Hayley Parker, Benny Gautreaux, and Nicolas, Tyler and Ridge Guidry; seven great-grandchildren, Drake and Abby Gautreaux, Christian Domangue, Aubry Melancon, and Niah, Addysen and Kholé Guidry; one great-great-grandson, Dylan Toups; one great-great-great-grandchild, Kiaka Toups; brother, John (Rita) Guidry; and sister, Joyce (Jullian) Terrebonne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Edna Gisclair Guidry; two grandchildren, Melissa “Missy” and Ronald Parker; one daughter, Lorena Parker; one brother, Vinton Guidry; and one sister, Gertie Benoit.
He is buried at St. Mary Cemetery. (Falgout)
