George Joseph Arcement Sr., 88 a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, May 5, at 4:05 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Boncille Crain Arcement; son, George Arcement Jr. and wife Peggy Arcement; daughter, Pixie Arcement Ledet and husband Wilson Ledet Jr.; brother, Raymond Arcement; grandchildren, Brad and David Arcement, Tanya Howard and Cassie and Lauren Ledet; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Ledet, Makayla Comeaux and Arianna Stakes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abdon Paul Arcement and Eloyne Marie Belanger Arcement; brother, Eugene Arcement; and sisters, Edith Degeneres, Hattie Chauvin, May Matherne and Dorothy Labit.
He worked as a steward for Freeport Sulphur and then J. Ray McDermott where he retired. He was a member of Annunziata Catholic Church

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Crain Cemetery in Stateline, La.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
