Donald Melancon

Donald Joseph Melancon Sr., 79, a native of Lockport, La., and resident of Houma, La., died on Wednesday, July 27, 2016.

Mr. Melancon was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired auditor for the Terrebonne Parish Sales and Use Tax Department and a fishing rodeo weigh master for 51 years.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith Michel Melancon; sons, Donald Jr. (Gwen), Jeffery (Amanda) and Damien Melancon; daughters, Justine Melancon, Monica (Gavin) Core; and numerous children and great-grandchildren.

Burial is at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery in Houma.
