SIMPLE HORCHATA

MAKES 8 (8-OUNCE) DRINKS

2 QUARTS SWEETENED RICE OR ALMOND MILK

1 TEASPOON GROUND CINNAMON

1 TEASPOON VANILLA

PINCH OF SALT

8 OUNCES DARK RUM (OPTIONAL)

Combine milk, ground cinnamon, vanilla, salt and rum (if using) in a large pitcher. Refrigerate for at least an hour, but the longer the better. Serve over ice with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

Finish your fiesta with a bang! Make a pinata with items you already have at home before your guests head home for a siesta.

Open a large paper bag and roughly draw lines on the outside. Cut tissue paper into strips and cut fringed edge. Trace lines with glue stick and apply tissue paper strips (with the fringed edge toward the bottom) from the bottom up. Once completed, fill the bag with candy, then fold the top and staple. Punch two holes in the top to attach the string, than leave enough extra string to hang. Grab a soft bat from die garage and let the games begin.

4 FLOUR TORTILLAS

MELTED BUTTER

CINNAMON AND SUGAR MIXTURE

SOFTENED ICE CREAM

MAGIC SHELL CHOCOLATE TOPPING

NON-STICK SPRAY

SPRINKLES

Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Lay tortillas flat, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture. Spray the top rack of your oven with non-stick spray and drape the tortillas over two ridges Place a baking pan on the lower rack to catch any loose cinnamon and sugar. Bake tortillas for 20 minutes, then remove and let cool. Once cooled, stuff shell with softened ice cream and place in a freezer for 15-20 minutes. Remove, then drizzle with magic shall and sprinkles before the magic shell hardens. Serve and enjoy.
