Percy M. Crosby Sr., 87, a native and resident of Grand Isle, La., died Friday, April 24, at 2:32 a.m.
He is survived by his sons, Percy M. “Mike” Crosby Jr. and Timothy “Tim” Crosby and wife Betty; daughters, Elaine Harton and husband Jim, Evelyn Crosby, Merlyn Taylor and husband Wayne, and Lynette Crain and husband Charles; brother, Charles Crosby; sisters, Mildred Billiot, Joann Santiny and Rita LeBouef; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lydia Barthelemy Crosby; parents, Mitchell and Amy Terrebonne Crosby; son, Steve Crosby; brothers, Norman Crosby, Fred Crosby and Richard Crosby; and sisters, Agnes Guidry, Carol Rigaud and Gail Cheramie.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and belonged to the American Legion Post # 309. He was a retired barber and also retired from the Jefferson Parish Mosquito Control. He was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts and enjoyed fishing, hunting, trawling and cooking. He was Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
