Rose “Ma-Rose” Meads, 85, a native and resident of Napoleonville, La., died Friday, July 16, 2010.

Mrs. Meads enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, fishing and singing in the church choir.

She is survived by her daughter, Alicia Meads; sons, Gill (Sheila), Adrian (Thelma), Marcus (Paulette), Troy (Roxanne) and Gregory (Myra); stepson, Robert Meads Sr.; stepdaughter, Geraldine Marshall; sisters, Louise Percy, Thelma Williams, Shirley Scott, Gloria (Raymond) Thomas and Mary Harrell; brother, Joseph Pharagood; sisters-in-law, Mable Fletcher, Leola Brown, Ethel and Rose Meads and Ethel Randolph; brother-in-law, Ellis Brown; aunts, Florence Hawkins, Albertha Bennett, Elnora and Irma Johnson; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two godchildren, Sandra Washington and Raymond Moore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver John Meads; parents, Ernest and Amy Pharagood; one son, Darryl Meads; four sisters, Edwina Johnson, Everlina Moore, Omega Cole and Ethel Pharagood; two brothers, Lyndon and Samuel Pharagood.

She is buried at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery.
