The partnership between Fletcher Technical Community College and Nicholls State University continued to grow with Nicholls’ new office space on Fletcher’s campus.
The two schools announced the opening of the Nicholls Transfer Student Success Center at Fletcher’s Schriever campus. The new office is the latest in the partnership between the two to facilitate dual enrollment and smooth transitions between the two-year and four-year institutions.
Nicholls President Dr. Bruce Murphy said the new office would have one full-time employee to answer students’ questions about enrollment, financial aid, housing and course credit transfers at Nicholls.
Fletcher Chancellor Dr. Kristine Strickland said she had seen four-year partners set up shop at other two-year program campuses, and has been in talks with Nicholls about office space since taking over at Fletcher in January.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for our students to not have to drive, not have to worry about the time to get over to Nicholls. They’re right here; the information’s right here, and they can pop in and ask a question,” Strickland said.
